The month-long event celebrated African culture and showcased to the world African music, fine art, literature, drama, dance and religion. About 16,000 participants representing over 70 nations worldwide performed at the event. At the time it was held, it was the largest pan-African gathering to ever take place.

FESTAC AFRICA is designed to be an event that binds and brings Africans from all over the world together to celebrate and appreciate our identity through a series of festivities planned over seven (7) days.
